Event Description:
After hearing from many of you about your availability and interest, I am excited to invite you to an in-person Trade Secret Workshop scheduled for June 10-11, 2022, at Mitchell Hamline School of Law (MHSL) in St. Paul, MN. The purpose of the Workshop is for each of us to share information concerning current research projects and to brainstorm about future trade secret scholarship. For instance, I am interested in identifying gaps in the literature, further considering the challenges of trade secrecy in regulatory settings and addressing the problem of actual secrecy.
Plan to arrive in time for a pre-workshop gathering and dinner on Friday, June 10, 2022. The workshop will take place the morning and early afternoon of June 11, 2022, so that you can fly home the evening of the 11th if you want (it really pays to live in a centrally located hub city). Pursuant to MHSL’s Covid-19 protocols all Workshop participants must be fully vaccinated and wear facemasks when on campus. (Facemask exceptions will be made for presenters and for eating and drinking within the designated Workshop conference room.)
MHSL will host the Friday night dinner, breakfast and lunch the day of the Workshop, and arrange for and pay for lodging for one night. All attendees are responsible for their own travel expenses and additional lodging.
I envision an informal roundtable setting with projects ranging from half-baked ideas to nearly completed works. Once I learn who can attend and what they would like to discuss, I will develop a schedule. With respect to nearly completed works, I may assign one or two official commentators.
Please respond to this email if you wish to attend and let me know the title of your idea/work in process and where on the half-baked to nearly completed continuum it falls. If you do not currently have a work-in-progress, that is OK too. The exchange of ideas, questions, and insights is what is most important.
